Exmoor Singers of London, music director James Jarvis

A kestrel, an oysterman, an island set in a silver sea, a shocking tale of murder most fowl, a wishing tree... a short afternoon's performance of choral music, based upon themes from the natural world.

Exmoor Singers is a busy London-based chamber choir of about 30 voices which has since 2003 enjoyed a special relationship with the Aldeburgh region through its annual musical retreats to Orford Ness.  Most recently seen in Howard Goodall’s BBC2 Messiah documentary, the group has also appeared on Later... with Jools Holland and is featured in top-10 albums by rock bands Bloc Party and Snow Patrol.  Its recent CD of contemporary choral music “Curtain”, distilled from its South Bank series sounds: voices of our time, was showcased in both BBC Radio 3’s  The Choir and Classic FM’s The Full Works.
