The Suffolk Sinfonia is a symphony orchestra based at Bury St Edmunds in West Suffolk. Many concerts are given in and around Bury St Edmunds, and the orchestra also gives performances in the surrounding region. Professional music teachers make up the core of the orchestra which rehearses regularly on Wednesdays during term time. Music students and gifted amateurs also help to maintain the high standard of playing.
Suffolk Sinfonia advance tickets will only be available from the Apex box office (http://www.the-apex.co.uk). Advance tickets normally become available 2-3 months before a concert. Full details appear in the Concerts menu item as soon as availability is known. Unreserved tickets are available in advance and also at the concert.
If you would like to play in the Suffolk Sinfonia, please let us know what instrument you play and at what level. At present we have vacancies mainly for strings. Send us a message with your details.

Subs are due 1st week of each term, either by:
Suffolk Sinfonia is now officially a registered charity. As previously described, the most significant benefit this brings to the orchestra is allowing us to claim Gift Aid on all personal donations and subs payments from UK tax payers, giving a significant boost to our income.
Gift Aid can make donations worth at least 25% more to us at no extra cost to you. With Gift Aid, a £20 subs payment is worth at least £25 to the orchestra, and we can backdate the claim to apply to subs paid over the last six years.
You can download a copy of the gift aid declaration using this link and return it to the treasurer.
In order to simplify the collection of subs, regular members are encouraged to pay their subs via monthly standing order. The overall cost to you remains at £20 per term, but is paid monthly directly from your bank account, working out at just £5 per month. Over a year, 12 payments of £5 (once per month) total the same as 3 payments of £20 (once per term), similarly for the joint rate.
If you wish to pay by Standing Order, please complete the standing order mandate attached to the gift aid declaration (available at the link below), and send it directly to your bank. Please also return the notification slip to the treasurer.
The Friends of the Suffolk Sinfonia are people who support the orchestra by making a financial contribution of £20 per year.
Friends know that they are helping to ensure the continued presence of live orchestral music in the area.
If you would like to become a Friend of the Suffolk Sinfonia, please contact the Friends' Secretary by e-mail or ask at a concert.
